Elsa Schiaparelli was an Italian-born entrepreneur in Paris whose avant-garde fashion forays were marked by equally outrageous and endearing fragrances. To accompany her 1937 collection of vivid, shocking pink clothing designs, she created Shocking, an expansive Oriental fragrance that became a bestseller in chic circles the world over. So memorable was the scent that Dragoco perfumers recreated Shocking in 1997. Shocking is a spirited scent, a brilliant bouquet of rose, jasmine, and narcissus blended with a sensual, musky base of patchouli and sandalwood. The addition of sweet vanilla and amber enlivens the spicy, hearty aroma, which captures the essence of sophisticated Parisian nightlife.
